Portable data carrier has a sensor for information capture, an evaluation unit for generation of data on the basis of the sensor information and an external interface for communication between a portable data carrier and an external system. The sensor is designed to detect the movement path and or the movement dynamics of a movement of the data carrier in space or at least relative to a surface. The invention also relates to a corresponding security token based on the inventive data carrier, which can have a movement sensor in the form of a mouse type ball sensor, an optical mouse sensor or a gyroscope, and a security system using such a token, e.g. by comparing a virtual signature written with the token to reference data. An independent claim is made for a method for input of movement data to a portable data carrier.
