The method involves tapping current signals at current sensor outputs of the current sources. The current signals of all the sources are mutually decoupled and simultaneously passed via at least one resistance arrangement whose voltage drop is fed to the input of a sensor unit as a voltage signal. The sources or sensor outputs are sequentially switched off if there is a defined deviation to identify the source causing the deviation. The method involves tapping current signals at current sensor outputs of the current sources (30,70) and feeding all current signal to a common input (21) of a current sensor unit for evaluation, whereby a comparison with a comparison criterion is carried out. The current signals of all the sources are mutually decoupled and simultaneously passed via at least one resistance arrangement (50,100) whose voltage drop is fed to the input as a voltage signal. The sources or sensor outputs are sequentially switched off if there is a defined deviation from the criterion to identify the source causing the deviation. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for implementing the inventive method.
