Method for transfer of liquid, e.g. tea, coffee or juice, from a reservoir tank (1) to a usage container (4), e.g. a cup. Accordingly a vacuum pump (22) is connected to the container, which is sealed apart from a filling pipe (3) that connects to the reservoir tank. The container is then filled by suction until its liquid level (5) reaches a predefined height above the liquid level (6) in the reservoir tank, at which point the vacuum pump is switched off. An Independent claim is made for a device for transfer of liquid from a reservoir tank to a usage container.
