Racemic metallocene complexes (I) are new. Racemic metallocene complexes (I) are of formula (1). T = (4)-(6); T' = (7)-(9); M = Ti, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, a Group 3 element or a lanthanide; R1-R11, R1'-R11' = H, halo, 1-20C alkyl, 3-8 membered cycloalkyl optionally substituted by 1-10C alkyl, 6-15C aryl, (1-10C)alkyl-(6-20C)aryl or arylalkyl, -OR13, -SR13, -N(R13)2, -P(R13)2 or Si(R13)3; R13 = 1-10C alkyl, 6-15C aryl, 3-10C cycloalkyl or alkylaryl, optionally substituted by heteroatoms; R8, R12, R8', R12' = 1-10C alkyl; Y = divalent group (a)-(f). =BR14, =AlR14, -Ge-, -Sn-, -O-, -S-, =SO, =SO2, =NR14, =CO, =PR14 or =P(O)R14; R14 = H, halogen, 1-10C (fluoro)alkyl, 6-10C (fluoro)aryl, 1-10C alkoxy, 2-10C alkenyl, 7-40C arylalkyl, 8-40C arylalkenyl, 7-40C alkylaryl or two R14 together form a ring; M1 = Si, Ge or Sn; R7 = -(Z(R15)(R16))m-; Z = Si, Ge, Zn or C; R15, R16 = H, 1-10C alkyl, 3-10C cycloalkyl or 6-15C aryl; and m = 1-4.
