Device for identifying the position of one motor vehicle tire amongst a number of motor vehicle tires, where the tire has a pressure sensor (101) and transmits a sensor signal to an evaluation unit (113). The evaluation unit also comprises an arrangement (115) for determining the state of a vehicle that is dependent on its movement; and an arrangement (117) for assigning a tire pressure to a tire based on the sensor signal and the vehicle state, so that the position of the tire is identified. An Independent claim is made for a method for identifying the position of one motor vehicle tire from a number of vehicle tires. The invention also relates to a corresponding computer program for method implementation.
