The tie bar (9) has a length section (16), made of a material with coefficient of thermal expansion (W1). The next section (17) is made of a second material, with a second coefficient of thermal expansion (W2). The first and second lengths (L1, L2) of these sections are co-ordinated such that, on change in temperature of the winding (2) and the tie bar (9) from the assembly temperature (uM) to the operational temperature (uB), the clamping length (15) undergoes the same change in axial length as the winding.
