A method for operation of field devices in process engineering equipment which form part of a regulating circuit and are in communicative connection with a central control- and regulating-device, by means of a mobile operating device. The manipulated adjustments on the mobile operating device are received for each field device as a data stream from the central control-and regulating-device for each field device and are checked at least for validity, and with test criteria available are accepted into the central data holding and sent to the respective field device.
