A device for communications- and multimedia-applications has a mobile speech/voice interface (1) carried by the user with microphone (2) for reception of speech and devices for wireless communication of the speech signals, several fixed satellite stations (5a,5b) with loudspeakers (4), a fixed central unit (3) for receiving, preparing and relaying the received speech signals, and a device for controlling the acoustic output via the loudspeakers (4) of the fixed satellite stations, as well as one or more interfaces (6a,b,c) for connection to the communication networks (telephone, mobile RF, internet, LAN etc). The acoustic output takes place from satellite stations at which wirelessly transmitted signals from the speech/voice interface can be detected.
