A method for the permanent waterproofing of polyamide textiles involves conventional finishing treatment in a bath containing at least 50 g/l of an 8-12C 2-mono-oxazoline (I), with isopropanol as solvent and 0.5-1.0 wt% perchloric acid (based on the amount of (I)).
