The system has a mast (5) and a machine head with a rotor. The mast is rotatably mounted in a base sleeve (2) that is itself pivotably mounted in a mast yoke (1) fixed in the ground. The machine head fixed to the upper end of the mast consists of a carrying unit on which a main shaft (48) joins the rotor to a gearbox (54) and generator (55). Current is drawn from the machine head via the interior of the rotatable mast to the fixed base sleeve.
