The tube has a smooth outer layer (2) which is cut off short of the end of the corrugated inner layer (3). A sealing ring (11) is held in place on the outer layer by a nut (7) with a conical tapered end (7a) screwing onto a housing (5). An inner conical surface (4) in the housing engages a sleeve (8) with inner projections (8b) engaging the grooves in the bared inner layer. There are further engagement sleeves (8c,9).
