A method for automatic operation or control of sun-protection devices (4a-g) e.g. blinds and/or an air-conditioning device in a motor vehicle (12) in which the blinds and/or the air-conditioning device are adaptively operated or controlled depending on, and/or with consideration of the actual position of, the sun and of actual route data and information such as the actual orientation and/or the actual travel route and/or the actual position of the vehicle relative to the sun.
