The advertising liquid crystal display (2) is mounted e.g. on a bridge in sight of the road (3). A set of traffic lights (1) is mounted on a post by the side of the road and has sensors connected to the control computer for the display. The computer contains a memory for advertising material, a radio receiver to enable new advertising material to be downloaded to the memory and a control switch.
