The circuit includes a flip-flop, comprising storage transistors of a first threshold voltage. The circuit also has a power switching transistor of a second threshold voltage, and by applying a predetermined potential to the gate, the circuit is brought into an operating state in which charge carriers in the circuit are protected from flowing out of the circuit when a power supply voltage is switched off. A number of switching transistors of a third threshold voltage are connected between the flip-flop and the power switching transistor for coupling a flip-flop input signal to the flip-flop. The first and/or second threshold is larger in value than the third threshold.
