The method involves observing the processing process, which involves directing a laser beam (3) onto the surface of the component (2) to be processed, at least partly from the side of the component remote from the incident beam and controlling the process using the process parameters resulting from the observation. Process parameters can be recorded by direct observation of the remote side of the component. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an arrangement for laser processing of components (b) a computer program for implementing the inventive method (c) and a computer program product for implementing the inventive method.
