Method for transfer of digitally captured handwritten data via electronic and traditional mail routes. Accordingly handwritten data, is entered, e.g. with a PDA, and sent electronically to a selected postal center together with a delivery address. If required, a graphical image can also be attached. In the selected postal center the mail item is printed out in analogue form prior to franking and sending to a particular target location.
