The multiple disk brake (11) and the two stages (P1,P2) of the planetary reduction gear are accommodated in the axle tube (5). The axle tube also contains two electric motors. The brake disks are accommodated between the two stages of the planetary reduction gear. The input shaft from a motor (6) directly drives the sunwheel of the first stage. Planet-wheels on a spider roll inside a fixed ring gear (12). The spider drives the sun-wheel for the second stage reduction with planet wheels (14) rolling inside a ring gear (10).
