The cutter holder (1) has a cutter head on a countersink device (11) with a piston and piston rod (12) with a setting device to move the circular cutter which includes a setting piston (22). The piston surfaces (e.g. 24) which are effective in the cutting direction have different cross sections in different positions of the piston.
