Method for operating a data store connected to a telephone network, e.g. a speech box, PC, relaying system, whereby the spoken content of a conversation or conference is recorded. A participant in the conversation can decide which part of a conversation or conference is to be recorded based on speaker recognition. An Independent claim is made for a device that controls which parts of a conversation are stored, received and or can be played back, based on speaker identification.
