Production of material containing indium-tin oxide (ITO) comprises (1) dispersing ITO powder in a solvent containing mainly water and (2) incorporating this material in a water-based or water-soluble binder system. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) production of material containing ITO by incorporating ITO powder in a water-based or water-soluble binder system; (2) the materials obtained by these methods; (3) production of a coating, especially surface coating, by applying a thin layer of one of the materials to the surface and then drying and/or hardening or baking; (4) the coatings obtained.
