The chuck head (12) has a coupling part (16) for connection to a chuck tube, an inner clamp face and an outer cone. Separation slits (21) divided the chuck head into chuck jaws and have elastic connection elements fixed to the chuck jaws. A recess in each clamp jaw engages an exchange device. The separation slit has an expansion (31,32) on each side, which begins near the free end face (24) and expands uniformly almost to the rear of the jaw. The expansion is arranged in the outer radial half of the clamp face and is symmetrical about the central plane of the slit. The elastic connection element is at least connected from the start point (33,34) of the slit to the side wall (35,36) of the expansion.
