The stacking column has a base body with upright parallel bearing plates (5,6) and superposed levers (12,13). To mechanically couple the levers (12, 13) at least one spacer body (17,18,19) is mounted displaceable in a vertical guide (7) between the levers to interact with the latter under pressure. The guide is preferably a vertically slit hollow body and the spacer is preferably made of plastics, ceramic, metal or a combination thereof.
