A container for corrosive conductive liquids, e.g. for galvanization or distillation, having a seamed double layered plastic coating with a leak indicating system based on resistance measurements, is new. A container for electrically conductive liquid media (3), having a plastic coating (2) provided with seams (1) and an electrically conductive layer (5) (between the coating and the metallic container wall (4)) covering the seams and connected with an electrode (9) inside the container via a resistance monitor (8), the coating consists of at least two layers, i.e. an elastomer layer adjacent to the container adhered to a plastics layer containing the seams. The covering layer is embedded between the two coating layers and is combined with the seams. An Independent claim is included for a variant form of the container, in which the container wall is non-metallic, the coating consists of a plastics layer adhered to the container wall and the covering layer is embedded between the coating layer and the container wall.
