Aqueous liquid detergent dispersion comprises 5-35 wt.% anionic surfactant, 10-50 wt.% builder, 0-10 wt.% electrolytes and 0.1-10 wt.% quaternary alkyl hydroxyethyl ammonium salt (I). The weight ratio of anionic surfactant to (I) is 2-50:1.
