A conical shaped membrane for loudspeaker, in which the loudspeaker (7) has over its cross-section a non-uniform material and/or a non-uniform gauge over its surface for influencing the frequency characteristic of the loudspeaker. An independent claim is also included for a loudspeaker with frame and conical membrane.
