The stud bar (1) for the track chain of a track laying vehicle has gripping rail profile extending in the stud bar's longitudinal direction and provided with at least one additional gripping element in the form of a gripping point (6) protruding orthogonally to the chain running direction and which is centered in the plane of the gripping rail profile (3) and detachably fastened to the stud bar by a threaded connection (8,9). The gripping point may be located on a profiled part (5) of the rail profile which is detachably integrated in the stud bar as a separate component.
