Fiber reinforcement(2) is impregnated by drawing in a matrix resin using vacuum created between an airtight layer(4) and a tubular outer tool(1). Resin flow rate is increased by tubes(6) which reduce flow resistance compared to the fiber reinforcement. The flow tubes lie on the inside of the construction. Layers of fiber material(2) may form a sandwich structure with a radially permeable core material, in particular honeycomb, profiles or foam. In the latter case the flow tubes(6) are inside the sandwich structure. An airtight, flexible inner tool is used and vacuum is drawn between inner(5) and outer(1) tools. Resin matrix is injected at pressure above atmospheric.
