The audio system has a car radio (3) provided with an insertion opening for fitting a portable information device (1) in a reception shaft (2) as in P 10217365, the car radio having an electrically-controlled movement mechanism with an electric motor (5), fitted in the reception shaft, for drawing the portable information device into the latter and moving it into engagement with a docking point (4).
