Method for matching the user interface (14) of an electronic unit, such as a TV or video camera to a user's behavior, whereby the type frequency and or time of use of items of a main or subsidiary function menu (16, 18, 20, 20, 22) are stored in a user action list (34). The data are then compared with data in a reference list. Matching of the user interface is undertaken by movement of menu points within the user action list or adjustment of the menu structure based on the comparison. An independent claim is made for a system for matching the user interface of an electronic unit to a user's behavior.
