The base section of a hand held rechargeable powered drill is formed with guides (11,12) so as to fit onto a charger unit (30). The drill slides on from the side and locates in guide rails (36,37) and engages positioning stops (38A,39A). Electrical contacts (31B) are engaged and the unit has a multi pin connector on the side (39B).
