A collision protection for a roller shutter door has each door section (5) fitted with an elastic grip (1) connected to the guide wheel assemblies. The grip disengages on impact and allows the door sections to be displaced without damage. The elastic grip has a slotted elastic strip (7) held inside a C-shaped metal rail (1) fitted to a cross support (6) of a shutter section, with the slot (12) facing outwards. The grip is adjusted by a threaded fastener (10, 11) through the rail and elastic strip.
