Accumulator with an anode and cathode arranged in an electrolyte containing microorganisms, which dissolve crystalline structures formed at the anode or cathode. An independent claim is included for a process for preparation of the accumulator involving addition of microorganisms to the electrolyte with consequent dissolution of any crystalline structures at the electrodes.
