Printing ink or ink-jet ink comprises coordination compound(s) (I) of elements of the first transition metal series with spin transition. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) production of gravure, offset and letterpress printing inks of this type by premixing the constituents of a component, grinding to a fineness of 5-20 mu m and incorporating mixing constituents in a butterfly mixer; (2) production of a screen printing ink by mixing the constituents.
