The device is arranged to couple separate flotation stages (10,20,30) together, such that the flotation hoods (14,24,34) of the flotation stages are arranged to form upwardly and vertically extending outlets (16,26,36) to let clean water flow over the succeeding flotation stages. Extended tubing flotation stacks (18,28,38) are used in forming the flotation hoods. The flotation stages are also provided with inlets (12,22,32) to permit water flow towards the outlets.
