Determining the hormonal effects of substances, used to identify pharmaceuticals, e.g. for treatment of androgen receptor dysfunction, from modulating interaction between nuclear receptors and Ewing sarcoma protein
Determining the hormonal effects of substances, used to identify pharmaceuticals, e.g. for treatment of androgen receptor dysfunction, from modulating interaction between nuclear receptors and Ewing sarcoma protein
Determining the hormonal effects of substances (I) by contacting Ewing sarcoma protein (EWP), or its derivatives, with nuclear receptors (NR), or their derivatives, and a test compound (X) and detecting the effect of (X) either on binding of EWP and NR or on the ligand-induced activity of NR. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) use of EWP, or nucleic acid (II) encoding it, for identification and characterization of substances that modify activity of NR; and (2) determining disorders in the co-modulation mechanism between androgen receptors (AR) and EWP by measuring the cellular and/or tissue concentration of AR and EWP.
