An observation device (7) calculates load-side data (n,o). The observation device has its input connected to a motor-side controller (3.1), a current rectifier (3.2) and a motor-side rotary encoder (4.2), and its output connected to a load-side controller (8). The observation device calculates a load-side slip error from a drive-side slip error (d), a torsion angle of a drive shaft, the set rotation speed (b), the load moment (n), actual speed of the load (n) and the load-side slip error, and setting values and corrections are calculated accordingly. An independent claim is included for a control device for compensating periodic and/or aperiodic irregularities.
