Relative movement between gear and shaft is prevented by means of a continuously thinwalled sleeve (21) and thus prevents axial movement of the tensioner (16) passing to the shaft and gear being connected. The sleeve can expand or contract radially to suit the radial extension of the tensioner (16). One end of the sleeve (21) thrusts against a flange etc to guard against axial shifting, preferably against a stop (23) at the passive end of the tensioner (16).
