The assembly to spin a yarn (1), from a staple fiber sliver (2), has a drawing unit (3) to draft the sliver and an air jet assembly (4) to form an eddy chamber (13) to take the drawn sliver (11). An air extraction channel (15) at the eddy chamber and a cleaning jet channel (18) aligned at the drawing unit are connected to a common underpressure source (21). The air extraction channel, with the inner cleaning channel, is a ring channel (20) at the opening (19) into the cleaning channel.
