The hand gun has a handgrip (1) grasped by the middle finger, the ring finger and the little finger of the user when the gun is held in the firing position and provided with an extension piece (6) at its base, allowing the length of the handgrip to be increased in the firing position, so that the hand gun has a height (H) of less than 130 mm, e.g. 110 mm, before extension.
