The exhaust valve has two movable flaps (1,3) respectively mounted on movably arranged hubs (2,4) on the outer layer (14) of an airplane. The opening of the flaps is controlled to set the air flow from the fuselage of the airplane in optimum pressure ratio represented by Pa over Pi, where Pi is the interior air pressure in the fuselage while Pa is atmospheric ambient air pressure. A monitoring unit is used to control the movement of the flaps in a limited area to optimize the air pressure inside the fuselage of the airplane during cruising operation of the airplane.
