The door support (4) has a closed hollow body comprising of two joined shells. A seamless hollow section (11) is contained inside the hollow body. The hollow section is interconnected to the top portion (9) of a doorstep (6), and to a crossbar (25) on the roof frame of a motor vehicle body.
