Fabrication of an aluminum-killed steel involves: blowing low sulfur raw iron to steel in a basic LD (Linz Donavitch) converter; low slag casting the non-killed steel into a casting ladle; adding slag-forming fluxes; lightly scrubbing with scrubbing gas at 100-400 l/min; deoxidizing completely with aluminum wire; final alloying; and continuously casting the steel. The composition of the steel used in the process is (% by wt): (a) C = 0.05; (b) Si = 100 ppm; (c) Mn 0.05 - 0.7; (d) P max 150 ppm; (e) S max 150 ppm; (f) Al 0.005 - 0.05; (g) O = 50 ppm.
