Production of electrodes for use in high-energy lithium- polymer batteries comprises (1) mixing a polymer binder into a mixture containing a lithium-intercalationable active electrode material, conductive salt, solvent and optionally also additives; (2) homogenizing to give a single phase suspension; (3) applying the active composition on a conductor; and (4) drying the composition and adjusting to a required coating thickness.
