The scissor type lifting platform has two pivotably connected crossing members (12,14) and a winding spindle (30) fastened to a base structure (18) or to the underside of the platform top (20). A cable is wound onto the spindle and fastened to the lower or upper movable scissor members. A protrusion (36) is provided on the underside or upper side of the scissor member (12) connected to the cables and the cable is guided over it.
