An electronic device has a service interface for connection of external service appliances for diagnosis, and device test, and/or transmission, of control software. The service interface has at least one contactless data coupler (3) which is arranged within the housing of the electric device for data communication with a data coupler adapter (4) which can be inserted into a tray (2) in the housing. An independent claim is included for a data coupler adapter with a connection to an external software appliance for diagnosis.
