The camshaft adjustment device to change the rotational position of a camshaft (10a) in relation to a crankshaft (11a) has the driving power of the camshaft directed from crankshaft via a hydraulic transmission (20a) formed by a pump unit (12a) and a hydromotor unit (13a). The hydromotor is designed to be adjustable to achieve a transmission change of the hydraulic transmission and to thereby change the rotational position of the camshaft in relation to the crankshaft. An independent claim is included for a method to change the rotational position of a camshaft in relation to a crankshaft by the use of a pump unit and hydromotor.
