Protective suit for a motorcyclist with outer airbags where the airbags are folded to form pleats and are fastened in strips to the suit by the energy released on inflation. The suit is fitted with sensors and electronics integrated into pockets. The inflation energy when required is obtained from pyrotechnic gas generators distributed over the clothing.
