A key code discrimination unit checks existence of a specific key mapping table corresponding to a mobile phone, upon connection of the mobile phone with the personal digital assistant (PDA) through a universal serial bus (USB) cable. A key code conversion unit converts key data input from the mobile phone into a key code value of the PDA, using the specific key mapping table. An independent claim is also included for data input method for personal digital assistant.
