The climate-control system has a compression refrigeration circuit (10) driven by the IC engine, which has an energy-saving operating mode employed during short-term standstill of the automobile. A short-term cold store (20) through which the refrigerant of the compression refrigeration circuit (10) is passed supplies the evaporator (18) upon disconnection of the compression refrigeration circuit, with collection of the condensed refrigerant in a container (22) at least partially enclosing the short-term cold store. An Independent claim for an operating method for a climate-control system for an automobile is also included.
