Connecting element comprises a handle-side adapter, a tool-side adapter, and an intermediate part for connecting to the handle- and tool-side adapters in a friction- and/or form-locking manner. The handle-side adapter has a receiving opening on the end facing the handle for creating a force- and/or form-locking connection between the handle and handle-side adapter. The tool-side adapter has a device for fixing it to the tool by a socket, screw or clamping connection. The intermediate part is flexible so that the relative position of the tool to a surface (wall, ceiling, object) can be infinitely adjusted depending on the pressure exerted on the tool. Preferred Features: The intermediate part is a rigid but elastic hose section.
